What is a Diaper Cake? Definitely, "not" a cake to be eaten, but an adorable, usable, multi-layer baby gift,
designed to resemble a wedding cake. Often called a Baby Gift Basket, it is a collection of everyday
practical newborn baby necessities which are often listed by the expectant parents on their Baby Registry.
Our recipe starts with the cake batter which has multiples of one ingredient, Huggies Disposable Diapers,
size 1-2 for babies 8-15 lbs. Other brand on request. The diapers are whipped into round layers which are
stacked and secured together to resemble a multi-tiered bakery made cake but it is definitely not edible.
The icing is made by blending hooded towels, receiving blankets, burp cloths, bibs, wash cloths, coordinating
fabric and ribbon which are smoothed on each layer.
All layers are decorated with practical baby necessities for bathing, diapering, clothing, feeding, playing and
sometimes decorative coordinating theme items.
Some items are often “hidden” in the center of a layer. Each layer is sprinkled with crinkled shred and/or
decorative items.
Each diaper cake gift is wrapped in cello, topped with a coordinating hand tied bow and an ingredient/gift
card which can be personalized just for you. The end result is an "awesome" presentation.
